Description
Role Purpose The Treasury Specialist oversees the organisation’s cash flow, liquidity, and financial risk management. This role ensures that funds are available to meet operational and strategic needs, while optimising investment returns and minimising financial risks. The Treasury Specialist will work closely with finance operations, financial planning & analysis, and other business units to maintain effective treasury operations. Key Responsibilities • Prepare daily cash positions, forecast short and medium-term liquidity and ensure sufficient funds for operations and strategic requirements are met • Develop and maintain short, medium and long-term cash flow forecasts • Optimise the use of cash across accounts and subsidiaries, whilst adhering to regulatory requirements and standards • Manage day-to-day relationships with banks, financial institutions, negotiate facilities and ensure compliance with covenants and reporting requirements • Perform timely and accurate daily/monthly bank reconciliations across all accounts, investigate and resolve discrepancies and ensure all transactions are properly recorded and maintain an audit-ready reconciliation file • Identify and mitigate financial risks related to currency, interest rates, and liquidity • Overseeing and managing short-term investments and debt instruments • Support financing activities, including loans, credit facilities • Compute loan interest and prepare accruals in line with loan agreements and accounting standards • Validate interest calculations received from lenders and reconcile discrepancies • Process loan interest repayments and principal payments accurately and on time • Provide analysis of investment opportunities and funding options • Prepare treasury reports, including cash flow forecasts, liquidity analysis, and risk assessments • Provide insights to management on treasury performance and market trends • Maintain accurate records and ensure strong internal controls over treasury policies and transactions, including documentation Qualification Required & Experience Required • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field • 3–5 years of experience in treasury, corporate finance, or banking • Strong knowledge of cash management, banking operations, and financial instruments • Proficiency in treasury management systems (TMS) and ERP system • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities • Excellent communication (verbal & written) and stakeholder management skills Nice-to-Have • Professional certifications (Certified Treasury Professional - CTP, CFA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) • Experience with international treasury operations and foreign exchange management • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance standards • Exposure to corporate financing Location: Accra How To Apply For The Job To submit your application, click on the link below and complete all relevant fields on the online application form.
