The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital invites applications from suitable qualified serving officers of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and sister agencies of the Ministry of Health for consideration for appointment into the following vacancy: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Summary of Job/Functions •To provide professional anesthesia services under the supervision of an anesthetists in the hospital as part of the anaesthetic and surgical team and to ensure an efficient, effective and safe operating service Main Duties and Responsibilities •Participate in the performance of pre-anesthetic care by performing a comprehensive patient assessment and evaluation such as history taking, physical examination, review patient's laboratory reports, request relevant laboratory investigations (FBC, FBS, ECG, BUE & Cr) or imaging (plain chest X-Ray), determine the patient's risk for surgery (e.g American Society of anesthesiologists etc •Develop a comprehensive patient-specific plan for anaesthesia, multimodal pain management and recovery (multimodal-using more than one drug and more than one route) •Obtain informed consent from patient or person with legal authority for anaesthesia and pain management •Prepare the patient adequately for anaesthesia •Provide patient education and counseling on preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care •Ensure that all medications, equipment and consumables needed for anaesthetic care are available and functional •Provide appropriate anaesthesia for patients requiring surgical interventions under supervision •Implementation of a patient-specific plan of care, which may involve anaesthesia, sedation and multimodal pain management •Ensure that anesthetic machine, patient monitors, suction machines, airway management equipment are checked to be functional and specific for the patient Qualification Required & Experience •Registered General Nurse or Midwife with Advanced Diploma/Degree in Anaesthesia or its equivalent •Registered member and in good standing with the medical and Dental Council or equivalent •A minimum of 3 years post qualification work experience •Experience in emergency medicine responses (proficiency in clinical procedures like intubation and critical thinking for swift diagnoses) will be an added advantage •Anesthesia specific knowledge •Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team environment •Research experience •Clinical experience Location: Accra How To Apply For The Job Qualified and interested candidates should kindly send their application letters, a two-page document of the vision for the directorate, curriculum vitae and copies of relevant documents (5 copies each) to the address below: The Chief Executive Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Accra Closing Date: 28 June, 2026
