The Accountant shall work closely with the Finance & Operations Manager. During the onboarding period, the successful candidate will receive structured technical mentoring from the Hospital's Finance, Tax & Compliance Consultant to support knowledge transfer and strengthen the Hospital's internal finance capacity. Min Qualification: Degree Experience Level: Mid level Experience Length: 3 years Language Requirement: English Working Hours: Full Time - 8 to 5 Applicant Location: Ghana Job descriptions & requirements Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting Maintain complete and accurate books of account. Record financial transactions promptly and accurately. Prepare bank, cash and other account reconciliations. Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documentation. Financial Reporting Prepare monthly Management Accounts and supporting schedules. Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements. Prepare financial reports and analyses required by Management. Support annual audits and regulatory reviews. Payroll & Statutory Compliance Prepare monthly payroll. Compute PAYE, SSNIT and other statutory deductions. Prepare statutory returns and supporting schedules. Ensure compliance with all statutory filing and payment deadlines. Revenue, Payables & Receivables Reconcile revenue from all Hospital departments. Maintain accounts receivable and payable records. Monitor NHIA and corporate receivables. Prepare supplier payment schedules for approval. Budgeting, Assets & Internal Controls Assist in budget preparation and expenditure monitoring. Maintain the Hospital's Fixed Asset Register. Participate in inventory counts and asset verification exercises. Ensure compliance with approved financial policies and internal controls. Report financial irregularities and recommend process improvements. Other Responsibilities Support the continuous improvement of financial systems and processes. Implement recommendations from the Finance & Operations Manager and the Hospital's Finance, Tax &Compliance Consultant. Perform any other finance-related duties reasonably assigned by Management. Qualifications & Experience Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. Professional Qualification: Progress towards ICA Ghana, ACCA, CIMA or CPA will be an added advantage. Experience 2–3 years' practical accounting experience. Experience preparing management accounts. Experience with payroll administration and statutory compliance. Experience using accounting software. Experience in the healthcare sector will be an added advantage. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Sound judgement and problem-solving ability. Accuracy and completeness of accounting records. Timely bank and cash reconciliations. Payroll accuracy. Timely statutory filings and compliance. Effective management of receivables and payables. Compliance with internal controls and financial policies. Quality and timeliness of financial reporting.
