Responsibilities
Regular Duties Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budgeting, and accounting. Prepare various financial statements and reports. Maintain accounting records showing receipts and expenditures. Direct the maintenance of: General ledger Subsidiary ledgers Accounts receivable Revenue distribution Depreciation Cost accounting Property records Operating expenses Prepare statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues. Review financial statements with management personnel. Periodic Duties Prepare statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues. Coordinate the preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting. Review financial statements with management personnel. Assist in the installation and maintenance of new accounting, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls. e. Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Excellent Microsoft Excel skills Efficient use of Sage Evolution Accounting Package Excellent written and verbal communication skills EXTRACT – KPI (KEY PERFORMANCE INDICES) Salary Payment Salary must not cross over into the following month. Salaries must be paid on or before the last working day of each month. Reporting Timely submission of: Weekly reports Month-end reports for office operations Quarterly reports for the Board Loan Portfolio Monitor the loan portfolio. Source loans to finance projects when required. Reduce interest payments by minimizing loan exposure. Receivables Ensure adequate follow-up on receivables with measurable results. Budget / Actual Align budget with actual expenditure. Monitor budget performance. Other Staff Matters Responsible for: Staff welfare Cooperative matters Commissions Dividends Allowances Subsidiaries Ensure all inter-company transactions are properly recorded. Conduct quarterly inter-company reconciliations. Statutory Remittances Ensure all statutory payments, including: PAYE Pension VAT Other statutory obligations are paid monthly and on time.
