The Farm Assist Accounts Manager will be assisting the Accounts and Farm Manager in Accounting/Finance in respect to farm operations. Min Qualification: HND Experience Level: Entry level Experience Length: 2 years Language Requirement: English Working Hours: Full Time - 8 to 5 Applicant Location: Ghana Job descriptions & requirements Responsibilities: Financial Management & Reporting Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) Monitor budgets for farm operations, feed production, equipment purchases, and seasonal inputs Track cost centers like poultry units, crop divisions, or aquaculture Inventory & Cost Control Oversee valuation and tracking of agricultural inventory (e.g., feed, fertilizers, livestock) Implement cost accounting systems to monitor input-output efficiency Analyze feed formulation costs, yield per acre, or livestock growth rates Regulatory Compliance Ensure adherence to tax laws, agricultural subsidies, and import/export regulations File VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory returns relevant to agribusiness Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies (e.g., Ghana Revenue Authority, FDA) Contract & Vendor Management Draft and review contracts with suppliers, distributors, and logistics partners Negotiate payment terms and ensure timely disbursements Monitor compliance with procurement policies and agro-input Payroll & HR Communication Manage payroll for farmhands, technical staff, and seasonal workers Ensure compliance with labor laws and social security contributions Track productivity-linked incentives or overtime for field Strategic Planning & Forecasting Provide financial insights for expansion plans (e.g., new poultry units, irrigation systems) Forecast cash flows based on seasonal cycles and market trends Support feasibility studies for capital investments or donor-funded projects Technical & Operational Support Collaborate with farm managers to align financial data with operational realities Troubleshoot discrepancies in production vs. accounting records Integrate ERP or farm management software for real-time financial tracking General Operational Support Collaborate with the farm manager in field/farm operations as and when required by the farm manager Other responsibilities as may be assigned. Core Qualifications Education: HND or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Agribusiness, or Agricultural Economics is typically required. Essential Skills Agricultural Cost Accounting: Ability to calculate unit costs of production (e.g., cost of egg per crate), track biological asset valuations, and manage seasonal cash flows. Financial Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of agricultural software (e.g., AgManager), ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel. Budgeting & Forecasting: Skill in developing annual farm budgets, forecasting seasonal expenses, and maximizing Return on Investment (ROI) for fertilizers, feed, and labor. Risk Management & Compliance: Understanding of tax laws, agricultural subsidies, environmental regulations, and insurance policies pertinent to farming.
