Job Purpose

  • •To lead the implementation of council decisions by providing overall direction, coordination and supervision of strategic initiatives in such a manner as to position CIHRM, Ghana, as a reputable Professional HR Body recognised locally, regionally and internationally.f1+
  • Key Duties and

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development of the institute's strategic plan and develop short and medium-term strategies to achieve the deliverables of the strategic plan
  • Supervise the effective management of the institute's finances and implement strategies to optimize the existing revenue streams and create new ones
  • Provide direction in the formulation and implementation of human resource policies, procedures and programmes to guide the effective management of the institute's human capital
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, Audit and other committees of council to develop and implement governance and compliance systems and structures to mitigate risks
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the institute's visibility and membership drive
  • Provide overall supervision and marketing of the institute's professional certification programme (PCP), continuing professional development (CPD), consultancy and research services/products.

Experience

  • A minimum of a Master's degree in human resource management or related qualification from a reputable university
  • A minimum of a Chartered Member of the institute or equivalent professional qualification, with not less than 15 years post-qualification relevant work
  • A PhD degree will be an added advantage
  • Proven track record of HR accomplishments in a C-Suite or senior management position in an industry or academia.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans, HR systems, policies, procedures and strategies
  • Ability to network and engage stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate and present to diverse audiences and stakeholders
  • In-depth exposure to international best practices in leadership, resource management, and strategic management.
  • Good understanding of people management
  • Knowledge of the relevant labour laws and the regulatory environment
  • Proficiency in financial management and marketing
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and execute work programmes and plans
  • Ability to leverage modern technology to drive operational excellence
