Reports to: Superintendent - Energy.
Direct reports include instrumentation and electrical supervisors or technicians and contractors.
Key
in gold mineral processing, including at least three years in an electrical and instrumentation supervisory role with large-scale fixed-asset management exposure.
In-depth understanding of electronics, PLC programming, SCADA systems, high/medium-voltage switching systems and process-control systems.
with PLC and Simocode programming, ProfNet/Profinet and Profibus communication networks, switchgear relay configuration and process-control troubleshooting will be an advantage.
Knowledge of motor starting methods, synchronisation, VFD parameter tuning, transmission-line maintenance and fault diagnostics.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and optimise electrical and automation control systems for crushing, milling, flotation, CIL, elution, thickening, tailings and reagent systems.
- Lead day-to-day electrical and automation support for the operational and maintenance contractor teams.
- Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation and automation faults promptly and restore systems to safe and reliable operating condition.
- Support the full lifecycle of electrical and automation projects, including technical planning, construction coordination, commissioning, functional acceptance and close-out.
- Ensure electrical equipment in the gold room, laboratory and LV/HV workshops is serviced and functioning correctly.
- Maintain electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, certificates and other technical documents.
- Establish and update registers of electrical equipment for lifecycle traceability and maintenance planning.
- Train team members in advanced technical skills, equipment operation and troubleshooting across electrical and automation disciplines.
Requirements
- Recognised degree, advanced diploma or diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a recognised institution.
- Minerals Commission competency certificate, at least Registered Inspection Engineer level, as stated in the source notice.
- Membership of the Ghana Institution of Engineers will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of Ghana mining electrical safety requirements, including L.I. 2184, LOTO, arc flash prevention and hazardous-area classification.
- Ability to use CMMS platforms such as SAP or Pronto, maintenance KPIs, CAD software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong communication, supervisory, contractor-management and decision-making skills.
- Must be medically fit for the mining environment and able to work under pressure, extended hours, high-volume workloads and strict deadlines.
