The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital invites applications from suitable qualified serving officers of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and sister agencies of the Ministry of Health for consideration for appointment into the following vacancy: Deputy Director of General Services Summary of Job/Functions •The Successful candidate will report to the Director of General Services and assist her in: Delivering efficient and compliant facilities: estates, assets, equipment and other support systems and processes Main Duties and Responsibilities •Assist to ensure that biomedical and civil engineering services are effective and optimised •Assist to provide partnership engagement with contractors and system specialists to achieve a complaint, safe and timely patient care services in line with legislation, regulation, KBTH values and aspirations •Being both reactive & forward thinking and in managing change that may include facility initiatives, improvement, projects and processes in conjunction with various departments •Assist to direct scheduling and overseeing external contractors •Assist to prepare specification for civil and biomedical projects, estimate cost of equipment, materials, labour and supplies preparing bits specification for projects and contracted services •Assist to oversee site and building projects performed by outside contractors •Assist to develop standards and specifications for cost-effective energy management systems and supervising the operations, maintenance and repairs such systems •Assist to ensure the proper disposal of hazardous and controlled wastes in compliance with regulations and guidelines •Contribute to strategic planning and evaluating and projecting future facilities needs and proposing options to achieve them •Perform other related tasks as may be assigned by the Director of General Services Qualification Required & Experience •BSc in Biomedical / Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent plus MSc in a relevant field •MSc in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / Biomedical Engineering or equivalent plus BSc in relevant field •Applicant must be a member of the Ghana institutions of engineers •Must be at the level of Deputy Chief Biomedical/Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineer or equivalent Or have 12 years relevant working experience in the above areas, 5 years of which should be a post qualification experience and also in a senior management position •Evidence of leadership and continuing professional development and training in project management/construction management or other related management field •Experience in operational and strategic planning as well budget development •Experience in project & budget management to drive initiatives and innovation •Experience in project evaluation and appraisals Location: Accra How To Apply For The Job Qualified and interested candidates should kindly send their application letters, a two-page document of the vision for the directorate, curriculum vitae and copies of relevant documents (5 copies each) to the address below: The Chief Executive Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Accra Closing Date: 30 June, 2026
