There is a job vacancy within the Business Department of Letshego Ghana for the above-mentioned position. The details of the role are outlined below.
Purpose Of Job
The Group Loans Officer is responsible for acquiring and managing customer groups, disbursing loans, collecting repayments, and maintaining a quality loan portfolio in line with Letshego's lending policies and business objectives. The role promotes financial inclusion by delivering responsible lending solutions while ensuring excellent customer service, portfolio growth, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Critical Deliverables, Core Accountabilities And
Responsibilities
- Business Development and Customer Acquisition
- Identify and recruit eligible customers into lending groups.
- Promote Letshego Group Loan products and services within assigned communities and markets.
- Generate new business opportunities and achieve assigned customer acquisition targets.
- Conduct customer
Education
- sessions on group loan products, repayment obligations, and financial management.
- Group Formation and Loan Administration
- Facilitate the formation and registration of customer groups in line with company policies.
- Conduct customer assessments and verify loan applications.
- Prepare and submit complete loan documentation for approval and disbursement.
- Ensure all customer records and loan files are complete and accurate.
- Support loan disbursement processes and ensure timely delivery of approved loans.
- Portfolio Management and Collections
- Conduct regular group meetings to monitor customer repayment behaviour and portfolio performance.
- Collect loan repayments and ensure customers meet repayment obligations.
- Monitor arrears and implement recovery actions to minimize delinquency.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and escalate high-risk cases in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain portfolio quality within approved non-performing loan thresholds.
- Customer Relationship Management
- Build strong and sustainable relationships with customers, community leaders, and group representatives.
- Address customer complaints and service issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide ongoing support and financial guidance to customers.
- Promote customer retention and repeat business opportunities.
- Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure all lending activities comply with Letshego policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct Know Your Customer checks and customer due diligence activities.
- Identify fraud indicators, portfolio risks, and compliance concerns and report them promptly.
- Support internal audits and compliance reviews when required.
- Reporting and Administration
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly business performance reports.
- Maintain accurate customer records and update systems accordingly.
- Track portfolio performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Support branch and business unit initiatives as required.
- Minimum of a First Degree in Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years'
Experience
in sales, customer service, business development, microfinance, or credit operations.
