The role requires a comprehensive understanding of mining and haulage operations to ensure an efficient and safe mining operation
Key Accountabilities
•Execute production plans focusing on safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Continuously monitor and adjust schedules to meet goals, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. •Oversee daily operations to maintain quality standards, conducting regular inspections and audits, and maintaining detailed records for accountability and improvement. •Lead and develop a team of mining professionals, providing mentorship, conducting performance evaluations. •Assess staffing needs, coordinate equipment procurement and maintenance, and implement strategies to maximise fleet utilisation and minimise downtime. •Monitor operational costs, analyse financial reports to identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost-control measures while maintaining productivity and safety. •Offer strategic advice on complex mining challenges, collaborate with senior management on long-term strategies, and ensure activities align with best practices and industry developments. •Manage AMAX / AMS exit and the transition to a new mining contractor •Implement robust safety protocols and risk assessments, maintaining a zero-incident workplace while adhering to environmental standards About You People are at the heart of everything we do.
