Applications are invited from ambitious, energetic and performance driven individuals to fill in vacant position(s) mentioned below: POSITION: Project Communications Lead DEPARTMENT: ABU - Projects OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE •Design, lead, and control all project-related communications with a focus on trust restoration, transparency, and accountability. •Ensure communications are accurate, consistent, timely, and credible; support delivery without over-promising; and align with national regulations, company policies, and international standards (IFC PS1, PS5, GIIP). •Acknowledge and address stakeholder concerns through honest and empathetic engagement, while proactively managing misinformation, speculation, and reputational risk. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES •Design and lead project communications strategies and plans across ABU projects. •Ensure accurate, consistent, timely, and credible communications and translate technical information into plain language. •Engage stakeholders with honesty and empathy and manage high-risk community and reputational issues. •Proactively manage misinformation, speculation, media relations, and crisis communications. •Provide functional oversight to communications consultants and service providers. •Align communications with national regulations, company policies, and international standards (IFC PS1, PS5, GIIP). Qualification Required &
Experience
•At least 7 years’ relevant
in project communications, stakeholder engagement, or corporate affairs. •
in mining, infrastructure, resettlement, or extractives. •Demonstrated
managing high risk community and reputational issues. •
working with traditional authorities, regulators, NGOs, and media. •Familiarity with IFC Performance Standards and international lender requirements. Knowledge & Skills •Stakeholder and crisis communication. •Trust and reputation management. •Media relations. •Community engagement in sensitive environments. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills. •Ability to translate technical information into plain language. •Strong planning, coordination, and reporting skills. •Calm, credible presence under pressure. •Integrity, neutrality, and ethical conduct. •Integrity and accountability, empathy, sound judgment, resilience, collaboration, and strategic perspective.
Education
& Qualification •Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Relations, or related field. •Master’s degree in Strategic Communications, Public Affairs, ESG, or Social Performance is an advantage.
