Role Details
Buck Press Limited is recruiting a full-time Materials Handler for its Head Office at Ofankor on the Accra-Nsawam Highway. The Materials Handler manages the movement of stock items required across manufacturing business units, receives deliveries into the warehouse, fills departmental orders and handles confidential information on finished goods.
Role Overview
The role supports the stable flow of materials in the supply chain by coordinating warehouse movement, stock documentation, shipment preparation and safe handling of materials and equipment.
Key
O Level standard of education; Mathematics and English would be preferred.
ECDL.
Knowledge of safety practices.
Previous storekeeping experience.
Forklift truck licence.

Responsibilities
- Check and unload or load deliveries safely in the correct defined areas.
- Receive security material deliveries in a safe and controlled manner.
- Prepare raw materials according to production schedule requirements.
- Perform cyclic counts and routine stock checks.
- Manage the necessary documentation for the transportation of goods.
- Assist with input into the provided system.
- Work within a systemic delivery schedule, including milk-run activity, to allow material flow at specific intervals across manufacturing processes.
- Transport process waste or destroy it according to granulation procedures.
- Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing or padding using appropriate hand tools to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Maintain the storage areas in a safe, clean and tidy condition, including housekeeping of the staging area and loading bay.
- Store and record packed material for shipment.
- Ensure equipment is in good working order and condition.
- Park equipment in appropriate locations and keep units charged where required for immediate use.
- Weigh finished goods, submit data to the shipping team and support the fast turnaround of material from finishing phase to delivery phase.
- Understand and comply with Lean Manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement practices.
- Follow company guidelines and policies, including environmental health and safety, ethics and codes of conduct.
- Support additional duties within role capability when required by the business.
