- The Sahara Centre is inviting applications for a remote Researcher role tied to specific research projects. The position is fully remote for a fixed-term placement, typically three to six months, and candidates do not need to be based in Lagos or Nigeria.
- The Centre focuses on reframing indigenous knowledge as strategic intelligence for African development through research, policy conversations, intellectual community programmes and public-facing knowledge work.
- Role Focus
- Design and execute independent research projects from question development through publication-ready output.
- Produce rigorous evidence-grounded writing for academic, policy and senior stakeholder audiences.
- Contribute research expertise to Centre programmes, salons, labs and selected public knowledge activities.
- Work with quantitative or qualitative research methods depending on the assigned project.
- Collaborate remotely with project leads while maintaining agreed timelines and institutional review standards.
Requirements
- PhD in development studies, African studies, political economy or a related field; strong Master's candidates or near-completion PhD candidates may be considered.

Experience
