The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to our mission of saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low-and middle-income countries. CHAI was founded in 2002 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, with the goal of dramatically reducing the price of life-saving drugs and increasing access to these medicines in the countries with the highest burden of the disease. Program Overview

CHAI’s Analytics and Implementation Research (AIR) Team is a results-driven team of public health experts strategically positioned at the centre of CHAI’s geographic and disease priorities, maximizing health systems, and bringing innovations to scale. AIR has years of

tackling problems within real-world health systems in resource-limited settings and a long history of well-regarded collaboration with partner governments and CHAI country and global teams.

Position Overview

CHAI is seeking a highly motivated individual with public health

and analytical skills to work with CHAI’s program and country teams and government counterparts to conduct epidemiological analysis, model program impact and cost-effectiveness, monitor and evaluate the success of ongoing efforts, and translate results for decision-makers. The Technical Advisor will work across CHAI's program portfolio, building, pressure-testing, and communicating analytical evidence to support strategic decisions. They will be responsible for developing and refining cost-effectiveness analyses for candidate programs across CHAI's portfolio; conducting rigorous pressure-tests of program theories of change by critically reviewing literature; and applying quantitative methods to help CHAI country teams identify priority programs, efficiencies, and geographic targeting opportunities. The Technical Advisor will also prepare clear, concise analytical outputs and presentations for CHAI senior leadership and major philanthropic funders, translating complex modelling work into strategic insights that can shape funding conversations.

This role is a unique opportunity to apply advanced epidemiological and quantitative analytics to high-impact health interventions in some of the world's most challenging contexts. You will have the chance to work across CHAI's diverse health programs, own technically complex analytical work end-to-end, interact with policymakers and donors, and directly influence how resources are allocated to save lives at scale.

Postgraduate degree in epidemiology, economics, or related quantitative discipline

7+ years of

applying quantitative methods to global health or development challenges, including cost-effectiveness analysis, impact evaluations, and mathematical modeling

Technical

Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with proven capacity to pressure test complex theories of change

Excellent skills in data management and statistical analysis, including use of software such as Stata, R, or SAS

in cost-effectiveness modeling and evaluation design (including causal inference using observational data), tailoring methodologies to diverse contexts to generate actionable insights

assessing and reconciling data quality issues across large survey and administrative datasets, particularly in multi-country settings

Strong understanding of the LMIC health systems context, including data limitations, operational constraints, and the role of government and partner ecosystems

Operational

Strong communication skills, including the proven ability to translate research into policy recommendations, and to present complex quantitative findings to donors, government stakeholders, and other diverse audiences

Demonstrated fluency in using AI tools to synthesize information and produce high-quality analytical outputs, paired with the judgment to critically evaluate AI-generated work, identifying where it falls short or gets things wrong, and applying sound human reasoning to correct, refine, and strengthen the final product

Proven ability to work independently on an ambiguous, early-stage concept, shaping it into a clear vision, aligning a team around that direction, and driving the work through to a donor-ready and senior-leadership-ready final product

Commitment to collaborative work with a remote, geographically dispersed team across multiple time zones

Fluency in English

collaborating with donors in the global health and development space, including drafting concept notes or proposals
