OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The vision of the Division of Health Promotion, Disease Prevention and Care (PPC) is to advance health for allby anticipating change and integratingpromotion, prevention and care across all health and disease areasto address today's greatest health burdensandtomorrow's challenges​.Within PPC Division, the Department for HIV, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis and Sexually Transmitted Infections (HTH) aims to lead the global effort to end HIV, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis, and Sexually Transmitted Infections, by delivering norms & standards, and making sure that every person has equitable access to people-centred scientific evidence, services, and innovations, no matter where they live.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Conduct data analyses required for global reporting related to HIV, hepatitis and STIs. Prepare content for global reports related to HIV, hepatitis and STIs (e.g. text, graphics, tables, webpages). Develop and manage data dashboards to disseminate key findings from data analyses related to hepatitis and STIs. Produce customized analyses and datasets required by other units in HTH, other departments in WHO and external partners, in response to requests. Contribute to the review and validationof data related to HIV that are collected annually from WHO Member States in collaboration with UNAIDS. Contribute to the review and validation of data related to hepatitis and STIs that are reportedto WHO by Member States. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential

: An advanced university degree (Masters level or above) related to health and health sciences that included substantial content related to analysis of data (e.g. epidemiology, medical statistics). A first-level university degree in a highly quantitative subject (e.g. mathematics, physics, economics, computer science).

Desirable

: A PhD related to communicable diseases.

Essential

: At least seven years of

grant for dependent children.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proven ability to prepare high-quality presentations. Ability to be proactive/take initiative, and to work independently. REMUNERATION

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 86,027 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 6072 per month for the duty station indicated above.
