Job Purpose
and Organizational Context
The ICT Unit of the UNDP Ghana Country Office provides technology, connectivity, digital collaboration and end-user support services that enable effective programme delivery and business operations. The unit supports computers, printers, mobile devices, network connectivity, Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, conferencing facilities, ICT asset management, cybersecurity awareness and routine troubleshooting for staff and project personnel.
The ICT Assistant Intern will support the unit in strengthening first-level user support, maintaining accurate ICT inventory records, assisting with the implementation of the Inventory Management System, preparing documentation, and supporting secure and efficient use of digital tools across the office.
Duties and
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the ICT Associate, and under the overall guidance of the Operations Manager, the intern will support the following areas:
ICT service desk and end-user support: provide first-level support to staff and users on laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, Teams/Zoom, email and other collaboration tools; log, track, escalate and follow up on ICT support requests.
ICT asset, inventory and digital systems support: support implementation of the Inventory Management System by validating asset records, tagging ICT equipment, updating custodian assignments, preparing asset acknowledgement forms and reconciling physical ICT assets with system records; assist with user account support, onboarding/offboarding checklists, and shared drive access requests.
Support network/connectivity checks, meeting room ICT readiness, cybersecurity awareness activities, documentation, user guides, and other ICT, operations and digital transformation activities as assigned.
Internship Conditions
UNDP will not pay interns a salary but will provide a stipend in accordance with UNDP internship policy; all other expenses are borne by the intern or sponsoring institution.
Interns are responsible for obtaining necessary visas, arranging travel, and providing proof of health insurance enrolment and a medical certificate of good health before the internship begins.
Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity.
