Job Purpose
- • To provide senior professional and supervisory support for the planning, coordination and administration of the institution's procurement activities in accordance with applicable procurement laws, regulations, policies and approved procedures
- Key Duties and
Responsibilities
- Provide technical input into formulation and review of procurement policies, manuals, guidelines and procedures
- Coordinate implementation, monitoring and evaluation of procurement programmes and activities
- Coordinate preparation and periodic review of the institution's annual procurement plan
- Coordinate procurement processes in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, approved thresholds and procedures
- Maintain accurate and current databases of suppliers, contractors, consultants, service providers and procurement activities
- Provide professional procurement advice to user departments and relevant management structures
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of procurement records and audit trails
- Coordinate contract-administration and procurement-monitoring activities within the approved mandate of the unit
- Facilitate preparation and submission of statutory and periodic procurement reports
- Perform secretarial
- Coordinate procurement-related aspects of disposal processes in accordance with applicable
Requirements
- Coordinate preparation of the unit's annual work plan and budget
- Coordinate implementation of the performance management system within the unit
- Supervise and appraise subordinate staff
- Perform other related procurement duties assigned by the appropriate authority
Experience
- • A minimum of a Master's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or any other related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution
- • Membership of a relevant and recognized professional body, where applicable
- • A minimum of 6 years post-bachelor's relevant work
