- The Procurement Assistant will support procurement and logistics activities by preparing import documentation, coordinating with shipping and clearing partners, monitoring consignments, and ensuring compliance with Ghana Customs and ICUMS requirements.
- Job Duties
- Prepare, process, and verify all required import documentation, including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Certificates of Origin, ensuring full compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority (Customs Division) regulations.
- Utilize the Ghana Customs Management System (ICUMS) for processing entries, checking duties, and tracking the status of consignments.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and clearing agents to ensure zero demurrage, detention, or storage charges through proactive monitoring and planning.
- Proactively identify and resolve customs-related issues, including delays, discrepancies, or documentation errors, to prevent disruptions to the supply chain.
- Monitor Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)
Requirements
- for visiting technicians or executives when related to procurement and logistics activities and ensure real-time tracking of all inbound consignments.
- Qualification &
Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3–5 years of proven
- in customs clearing, freight forwarding, and port operations in Ghana, preferably within the automotive, manufacturing, or heavy equipment industry.
- In-depth working knowledge of Ghana Customs procedures and the ICUMS system.
- Strong understanding of import/export processes, shipping documentation, Incoterms, and duty calculations.
