- Wilder Institute Ghana LBG is recruiting a Program Transport and Logistics Officer in Accra. The role supports conservation programmes by coordinating transport, logistics, procurement, fleet readiness, travel arrangements, and field support for programme teams.
- Role details
- Fixed-term, full-time role supporting the Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary and Avu Lagoon Community Protected Area.
- Reports to the Conservation Operations Manager.
- Start date: October 2026 or as soon as possible.
- Expected contract end date: December 2029.
- Purpose: coordinate transport and logistics so project activities can run efficiently across Accra and field sites.
- The role works with programme managers, staff, partners, and field teams across both conservation project locations.

Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to improve shared use of equipment and resources across project sites.
- Facilitate distribution and tracking of equipment and resources used by WCHS and ALCPA teams.
- Purchase equipment and supplies for both project areas and coordinate delivery of needed items.
- Support the Operations Manager with deliverable-based service contracts.
- Follow procurement policies and help ensure other programme staff comply with those policies.
- Serve as in-country driver and make regular visits to WCHS and ALCPA.
- Manage and streamline logistics across the Accra head office and both conservation project areas.
- Proactively identify local operational risks and communicate them to programme managers for timely resolution.
- Develop and implement a maintenance plan for field equipment, tools, and vehicles across Accra, WCHS, and ALCPA.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the line manager.
Requirements
- Higher National Diploma in Logistics is required.
- Driver certificate from a recognised institution is required.
- Three to five years of

- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

- Working conditions
- Based on a 40-hour work week with flexibility for work across Ghana and Canada time zones.
- Requires extensive field work in and outside Accra.
- Field work may involve rural or remote communities, long or irregular hours, difficult weather, wildlife-related exposure, heavy field equipment, trucks or ATVs, and other outdoor conditions.
- Travel or residence in field locations may be required.
- Travel may include highways, dirt roads, occasional air travel, and movement between project sites and the head office.
- Staff must be comfortable working outdoors and following local weather guidance on temperature and air-quality issues.
