About the Role
Maagrace Garment Industries Limited (MGIL), a Ghana-based apparel manufacturer producing garments for large US brands, is hiring a Senior Merchandiser to work alongside its technical teams and its strategic partner Ethical Apparel Africa (EAA), a Ghana-headquartered sourcing company that helps international brands manufacture ethically in West Africa. The role reports to the Director of Merchandising, Sourcing & Logistics and owns assigned customer accounts and orders from product development and costing right through to bulk production and final shipment.
Buyer Relationships & Account Management
Act as the main merchandising contact for assigned customers, communicating professionally on daily order matters and understanding their standards, specifications and timelines.
Follow up on buyer approvals, samples and development requirements, join buyer calls and meetings, and proactively flag commercial, quality or delivery risks.
Product Development, Costing & Order Management
Review new styles, tech packs and specifications, coordinate fabric, trim and packaging development, and prepare accurate costing while identifying ways to reduce cost without compromising quality.
Manage orders end-to-end through the company's ERP system, from PO receipt to shipment, maintaining order trackers and monitoring critical-path milestones across planning, production, sourcing, quality and logistics.
Production, Sourcing & Shipment Follow-Up
Track production progress against plan, follow up on cutting, sewing, finishing and inspection timelines, and coordinate with QA/QC to ensure customer quality standards are met before bulk production.
Work with the sourcing team on timely fabric and trim availability, and coordinate with logistics and freight forwarders to keep shipments on schedule, flagging vessel or port delays early.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in business, fashion, textiles, merchandising, supply chain or a related field; a technical textile degree is not required where practical merchandising
is strong.
5-8 years of garment merchandising
in an export-oriented, factory-based manufacturing environment, with a track record managing international (ideally US and European) accounts across the full order lifecycle.
Strong garment costing, product development and production follow-up experience, comfort running multiple styles and POs at once, and working knowledge of ERP systems and international shipping/export processes.
Confident, client-facing communicator with strong numerical and analytical skills, a commercial mindset on margins and cost drivers, and the organisation to stay on top of the critical path across many orders simultaneously.
