Job Description
The Social Media Manager is a part-time, remote role responsible for planning, creating, and managing content across IHRDC’s social media platforms. This role oversees day-to-day social media activities, including scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, responding to comments and messages, and maintaining a consistent brand voice aligned with IHRDC’s mission. The Social Media Manager collaborates with program and leadership teams to translate initiatives, events, and impact stories into compelling digital campaigns. The role also involves analyzing social media performance data, optimizing content and posting strategies, and recommending improvements to increase reach and engagement. Additionally, the Social Media Manager stays current with social media trends and best practices to support IHRDC’s community and purpose development objectives. This is a volunteer role.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO) to plan, execute, and refine campaigns across multiple platforms. Because we are a pro youth organization, young people between the ages of 18-25 who are willing to learn and develop their skills in a thriving team are encouraged to apply.
Candidates should possess strong Communication and Writing skills to craft clear, engaging, and mission-aligned messages for diverse audiences.
Candidates should possess skills in Content Strategy to develop calendars, align content with organizational goals, and support program and campaign visibility.
Experience
- with basic analytics tools and reporting to track performance, interpret data, and adjust social media strategies is beneficial.
- Familiarity with community-focused or nonprofit work, youth development, or human development initiatives is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams is required.
