Role Details

Design & Technology Institute is hiring a Workplace Experience Learning (WEL) Coordinator to strengthen the link between training and real workplace opportunity. The role focuses on building employer partnerships, coordinating learner placements, tracking workplace-learning outcomes and helping learners move from technical training into employment, apprenticeship or entrepreneurship pathways.

This position is suited to someone with strong industry-facing experience who can speak confidently with employers, understand what companies need from entry-level talent, and work with academic and student-service teams to prepare learners for meaningful work exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and industry partners that can provide workplace learning, apprenticeship or employment opportunities.
  • Coordinate WEL placements and support effective engagement between learners, employers and DTI.
  • Engage employers to identify current workplace-learning needs, employment opportunities and practical skills expectations.
  • Feed industry needs and employer feedback into learner development, placement preparation and workplace-learning activities.
  • Monitor placement outcomes, maintain accurate records and support reporting on WEL activities.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen pathways from training into employment, apprenticeship and entrepreneurship.
  • Collaborate with academic teams, student services and employers to support learners' transition into the workplace.
  • Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree or strong academic background in Engineering, Technology, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related field; a master's degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in B2B sales, account management, business development or industry relations.
  • Experience in technical, manufacturing, TVET or applied-learning environments is preferred.
  • Strong relationship-management, project-coordination, communication and data-analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage employer partnerships, monitor placement outcomes and identify employment opportunities.
  • Ability to work effectively with academic teams, student services, employers and other stakeholders.
