Analyst, Inventory & MM

• Responsible for executing all materials planning routines and activities on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and directly supporting materials requirement planning and control decisions on the mine.
• Build strong working relationships with Operations, Planned Maintenance, Warehousing, Procurement and Finance as directed by the Superintendent, Inventory and Materials Management.
• Comply with relevant materials management systems, methods, policies, processes and standards in the context and report performance targets, standards, KPIs and risks in line with materials management, materials engineering and integrated Supply Chain management frameworks.
• Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution.
• Report all incidents and ensure investigations are completed and corrective actions are closed out on time.
• Act on all assigned corrective actions and ensure timely completion.
• Maintain compliance with set OHS KPIs and support zero incidents and zero injuries in areas under the role holder’s jurisdiction.
• Conduct and support critical controls reviews, workplace visits, inspections, hazard observation reporting and planned task observations.
• Account for environmental obligations and performance within the team.
• Conduct formal meetings with the team and report weaknesses in environmental procedures.
• Enforce environmental work procedures issued by the Departmental Manager.
• Investigate environmental incidents in assigned work areas and prepare reports with recommendations.
• Attend scheduled environmental training meetings and act on employee environmental complaints and suggestions.
• Perform established Inventory & Materials Management processes, routines and practices including cataloguing new materials through the ANSI and ANCI processes.
• Implement established processes, procedures and governance systems for cataloguing new stock and non-stock items in SAP to maintain quality of SAP Materials Master data.
• Ensure compliance with the ANSI and ANCI policy so that only routine items with validated future demand are catalogued, purchased and managed as stock, while non-qualifying items are purchased through free text or non-stock processes.
• Advise end users on substitute materials, supersessions in specifications, descriptions or part numbers and the creation of new stock codes.
• Apply Inventory & Materials Management models and systems for critical and routine spares and consumables replenishment through SAP.
• Collect and interpret data to a high standard of quality assurance and control.
• Execute and ensure adherence to established Inventory & Materials Management processes, routines and best practices.
• Facilitate stock replenishment by conducting weekly reviews of planned orders and timely conversion to purchase requisitions in line with production and maintenance schedules.
• Perform Min/Max reviews based on historical usage, lead times and estimated annual consumption forecasts from end users.
• Use the required tools and documentation to support workflow between Inventory & Materials Management, Purchasing, Warehouse, Planned Maintenance, Engineering and Operations.
• Generate data as input to the annual Supply Chain cost centre budget to support annual, medium-term and life of mine business plans.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and make recommendations for inclusion in the budget process.

Requirements

• Contribute to development plans that increase knowledge and understanding of Inventory & Materials Management outputs in mining, engineering and metallurgical plant operations to reduce operating costs.
• Perform the work of the Analyst, Inventory & Materials Management within approved budget targets, specified timeframes, costs and KPIs by delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement a manual forecasting, replenishment and stock review system with end-user departments to ensure stock availability for reagents, bulk commodities and critical mining consumables.
• Establish and oversee a proactive manual review process for identified critical spares, including monitoring inventory levels, validating stock accuracy and ensuring timely replenishment based on usage patterns and lead times.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction across Inventory & Materials Management, Procurement and Warehouse functions by analysing spending patterns, supplier pricing and operational inefficiencies.
• Prepare and present well-justified recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
• Establish targeted stakeholder relationships to support initiatives and enhancements.

• Develop an annual cycle count schedule and communicate it to the Warehouse team for structured execution of cycle counting activities.
• Design and implement a management reporting tool to monitor and track cycle count performance against schedule.
• Facilitate collaborative planning and engagement initiatives with departments to obtain correct forecasts for new projects, critical spares and consumable requirements.
• Provide Inventory & Materials Management expertise and advice to relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in internal stakeholder management and engagement planning and in collaborative planning and engagement meetings to set and reaffirm expectations.
• Prepare internal and statutory reports covering stock value, stock turnover, service levels, obsolete stock, new stock introductions, critical items service levels, and complaints received and resolved.

Experience

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Operations Management.
• All site-specific safety, HWW and other assigned training.
• Role specific training as assigned.
• Hazard & Risk Management training.
• At least three years’
• Working knowledge of inventory planning and control in mining, oil and gas, or heavy industrial equipment operations.
• Familiarity with SAP ERP system or equivalent ERP application.
