About the Job

: Greater Accra Region and Upper West Region, Ghana
The Transport Specialist is responsible for planning and optimizing all product movements. This position is primarily centers around ensuring timely deliveries to offtakers, efficient internal transfers, and high fleet utilization, while monitoring performance, costs, compliance, and continuous improvement across the transport network.
Key
for the Transport Specialist:
Bachelor’s degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years proven
Responsibilities
- 1. Delivery Programming & Coordination
- Develop and manage the weekly transport plan to ensure close to 100% OTIF (On Time, In Full) delivery performance.
- Lead coordination meetings with Operations and Logistics teams for clear weekly scheduling.
- Review and ensure accuracy of transport records and reporting tools (e.g., Post Tracker, Fumigation Table, and other official records).
- 2. Internal Movements Planning
- Plan and schedule daily and weekly internal product transfers between hubs, mega hubs, and warehouses.
- Optimize routing to reduce unnecessary internal movements and improve stock availability positioning.
- 3. Fleet & Resource Management
- Allocate company-owned, rented, and contractor vehicles to meet delivery and internal movement needs.
- Monitor fleet performance, fuel usage, maintenance schedules, and vehicle availability.
- Maintain transport documentation (permits, logs, maintenance records, insurance).
- Coordinate driver assignments, performance expectations, and compliance with company policies.
- Analyze transport cost-per-ton, fleet utilization, downtime, and routing performance for continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with transport providers and negotiate service terms and tariffs.
- 4. Strategic Projects & Reporting
- Participate in weekly Logistics Committee and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the rollout and ongoing use of Transport Management System (TMS), Odoo, and data dashboards.
- Track transport budget performance, route economics, and monthly cost reporting by carrier.
- Oversee claim handling, insurance documentation, and compliance with health, safety, and sustainability standards.
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Logistics Manager to support departmental goals and operations.
