- Role Description
- The Underground Technical Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Western Region, responsible for:
- Championing a strong safety culture, ensuring all operations comply with HSEC standards and that operational risks are proactively managed.
- Assuming full operational management responsibility for daily mining activities, including planning, execution, and optimisation across all projects.
- Generating and delivering detailed reports on technical performance, covering progress, safety incidents, and efficiency metrics.
- Acting as the primary interface with the client, managing the relationship to ensure contractual obligations and client expectations are met.
- Planning, coordinating, and controlling all human resources, equipment, and material supply to ensure operations meet production targets efficiently.
- Overseeing long-term planning and integrating robust short-term scheduling and control across all departmental activities.
- Managing key subcontractor agreements and overseeing the preparation and strict adherence to annual operating and capital budgets.
- Leading, mentoring, and organising a large, multi-disciplinary team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Coordinating technical service programs of work that enhance the life of the asset, and the quality and delivery of projects. Technical activities and programs will be both short term, routine technical work, as well as medium/long term.
